Great Missenden railway station

This station first opened on 1 September 1892, and was served by both the London Underground Metropolitan Line and the Great Central Railway. However, when the London Underground was fully electrified in the 1960s, a decision was made to run only as far as Amersham; one stop short of Great Missenden. This meant Great Missenden is now served by overground only. Services were run by Network SouthEast until privatisation in 1996, when Chiltern Railways took over the franchise.
