Shame there is no chimney but it is still a very fine example of a late Victorian cotton spinning mill. The engine house contained a very fine example of a horizontal four cylinder triple expansion engine built locally by Yates & Thom. The twin towers are a less common feature. The boiler house is completely ruinous and devoid of plant. As the mill is by the canal it lacks a lodge, cooling water being taken from and returned to the canal.
