Taken from Military Road. Dover Harbour station was built in 1861 at more or less the same time as Admiralty Pier station which served passengers for the Continent. But because of inter-company politics trains arriving at Dover Harbour station were not able to continue their journeys to Dover Admiralty Pier station until 1864. Before Admiralty Pier station opened boat passengers had to use Dover Town station.
