A different view of the Roman Baths. The waters here have been revered for their curative properties for several centuries and the plaque on the front wall identifies a range of potentially treatable conditions at the time including rheumatism, 'too great heat' and 'saltness of blood'. The Baths failed to match the popularity of those in Buxton and Matlock and the site fell into disrepair before being eventually restored in the 1980s.
