Baron Hill, the stately home of the Bulkeley family fell into disrepair after WWII when it was used, first, as an officers' mess and, later, as a resettlement centre for the Polski Korpus Przysposobienia i Rozmieszczenia (Polish Resettlement Corps). There are plans afoot to refurbish the house to create luxury apartments.
