Compare this with Dr Clifton's view only a year earlier Image - the fence has appeared in the interval. The "remains of the goods yard" came in useful when the loco hauling the 07.51 York-Bangor failed near Slaithwaite. The class 31 loco seen here was despatched to push it to Marsden where it could run round and haul the train over the Pennines.
