The Long Length, dead straight for over a mile, is a section of the turnpike originally built in the late 18th century south of the River Severn / Afon Hafren, west of Y Drenewydd / Newtown. Taken early on the Sunday morning of a dismal Bank Holiday weekend, the road is empty now but can be something of a racetrack.
