The pub dates from 1963 when it was built by Watney-Mann brewers at 269 East India Dock Road, E14. Despite the generally derelict and boarded up nature of the building, an original Manns brewery sign is still present. Looking at its geographical situation, bounded on the east side by the maze of roads associated with the Blackwall Tunnel, and on the south by the busy East India Dock Road, it is easy to understand how it did not attract enough custom to justify its existence.
