Younger spectators grow restless as the older ones wait stoically for the 'Scarborough Flyer' steam train, which by the time it reached Castleford from its Crewe starting point was half an hour late. The shelter on the right replaced the 1876 station buildings in 1984, the signalbox was closed in 1997.
