Davy Bros of sheffield, 1876 horizontal duplex winding engine. Can be turned electrically. I saw this run in the late 1970s when it was used on wednesday mornings to inspect the shaft. The shaft was not in regular use but was maintained as a means of egress. The shaft headgear is unusual (now) in being of wood. The shaft is now in use for underground tours as part of the National Mining Museum.
