This pedestrian-only right-of-way formed a barrier when the old Ross Cottage Hospital was closed and the site redeveloped into retirement flats (Goodrich Court) in the late 90's. In order for the developers to include the land to the left of the footpath bordering Cantilupe Road (see Image) with the main site to the right bordering Gloucester Road (see Image), the building itself bridges the path - seen ahead.
