In June 2007, following very heavy rain, the A6102 was closed just south of Oughtibridge because of land slippage. This closure led to a diversion through Oughtibridge Centre which in turn led to problems for pedestrians crossing the road. Hence the need to install a new Zebra Crossing. The signs announcing this first appeared in May 2008 ... nearly 12 months after the road closure! Image Image
