Scout and Guide campsite, Fyning Common, Rogate

This is a circular enclosure. The circle was created under the Fyning Common enclosure in the mid 19th Century. The land within the circle was given to the people of Rogate for recreation (i.e.cricket) when they were kicked out of the rest of the common. The later gift of a recreation ground in the village centre meant no-one trogged up here to play cricket. Now the Parish Council allow the Scouts to camp here at a very favourablwe rate.
