The tidal River Roach has two arms, the main river which is the northern arm flowing through Rochford, and this short stump which forms the southern arm. The river is fed here by Prittle Brook. When I arrived on the bank here I frightened a small flock of white egrets. There is of course the inevitable supermarket trolley in the river.
