The present buildings of Longlands (County) Primary School were begun in 1905, with extensions in 1907 and 1910. An annexe was built c1953 and various other extensions and add-ons in the later years of the 20th century. The original Edwardian buildings are a typical brick-built design for the period. I notice that the original sash windows have been replaced, not surprising after a century! At the rear of the school each half formerly was divided into 16 small panes, but now the lower half of each window is a single large sheet of glass.
