Loop of road no longer in use due to the construction of a new bridge. The original infrastructure is strained by the need to remove timber from the vast forests by road. There was a railway serving the entire Kielder complex of forests, it closed when the trees were being planted. While this road has been upgraded, lorries are barred from the Newcastleton - Hawick road because of old weak bridges.
