Looking northwest along Main Street, with the Travellers Rest pub on the left and Cooper Farm beyond. Main Street was part of the busy A165 route between Hull and Bridlington until a bypass was opened to the west in 1986 taking most of the through traffic away from the village centre. The Travellers Rest is known to have existed as a licensed house at least since the 1820s.
