Just one gatepost left of what was once a fine set of gates presented to the club in 1951,formed in 1823 the club was one of the first in the area not at this ground but one nearer to the Hall,the club in its time has also provided more players for the county than any other club in the area in fact in 1874 six of them were in the Yorkshire team.
