Workers at the foundry would walk from their homes in Pelsall (on the right) to the foundry (on the left). The foundry would have covered most of the land from the junction bridge (just visible in the distance) back to this access bridge and well beyond. The foundry ceased trading in the 1890s and the land it once occupied is now the North Common.
