Beautiful Demoiselles (Calopteryx virgo) are generally found near flowing water, in acid/neutral geology. This mating pair was on vegetation in a garden in Loscombe, alongside a tributary of the Mangerton River. The brightly coloured male is on the left, with the duller female on the right.
