Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni was established in 1953 replacing the local grammar and secondary modern schools. It was possibly the first fully comprehensive school set up in Britain. It has over 800 pupils drawn from Llangefni and its rural surrounding area. It is very much a bilingual school.
