A number of these attractive flint cottages can be found along Millgate. This row of cottages at Number 20, Millgate, was built by William Marsh and has a pebble flint frontage. The plaque gives the initials 'W.E.M.' and the date '1845'. The initials stand for William and Elizabeth Hayne Mash, a local couple who in the 19th century co-owned a number of properties at Millgate. See also > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/882320.
