Purchased as a Village Hall in 1977, it was formerly Kingston School. The school was the subject of Sybil Marshall's book 'An Experiment in Education', a classic book on art and rural school teaching which influenced primary teaching in an unprecedented way (thanks to Adrian Atkins for this note).
