This double-aperture postbox stands on Castle Lane West, outside Image and on the corner of Bradpole Road. We look west towards another row of shops. This postbox actually has a place in the detection of crime. In 2000-2001 the 'Tesco bomber' demanded ransom from Tesco supermarket, of £1000 a day, or he would target their customers in a letter-bomb campaign. In the course of the police investigation, it was noticed that the envelope containing the demand had burn marks, and they connected this with the fact that this postbox had had some fire damage. Eventually, CCTV mounted above the box produced an image of the blackmailer posting a letter here.
