The exact date of this former Methodist Chapel is unknown - the foundation stones which normally record the building date and denomination of such buildings have been blanked off. Its inclusion on the 1896 1:2500 map but absence from the 1871 edition gives a range for the building date (and the existence of buildings either side of it in the earlier map, with a blank site where the building now stands probably implies an earlier date in the range). The Records of the Redhill and East Grinstead Methodist Circuit held by the Surrey History Centre at http://www.exploringsurreyspast.org.uk/GetRecord/SHCOL_457 include a resolution in 1947 to discontinue services and a document referring to its sale the following year. The National Register of Archives at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/nra/searches/subjectView.asp?ID=O82632 also refers to a Primitive Methodist Chapel in Lesbourne Road, with a link to the above records. It is now a warehouse for a company offering bulk storage of office files. It is locally listed.
