Originally Christ's College, the building was designed by Anthony Salvin who also designed Holy Trinity Church in East Finchley. The roof of the tower has often been referred to as the candle snuffer. A group of C of E parishioners can be seen on the right having just come out of the Sunday service in St. Mary at Finchley Church whilst Jewish children enjoy a game of football in the school playground on the left - different faiths, different Sabbaths.
