This dates back to the early 1950's when the original Lincoln Gardens Infants and Junior Schools were established to cater for the rapid expansion of Scunthorpe's population as the steel works were developed. The photographer would have passed this statue upon entering the Infants department in the mid-1960's. Behind is the new building of Lincoln Gardens Primary School, which opened in 2004.
