The Hanson Aggregate owned Caer Glaw Quarry, itself mothballed, is the site of a bottle crushing plant. The crushed glass is used as an aggregate substitute in the production of asphalt. The plant handles some 6000 tonnes of local authority collected bottles per annum and the asphalt produced contains 10% glass.
