These 1930s 'public baths and wash houses' are still in use for swimming, gym training, sauna and even traditional Turkish baths. See http://www.victorianturkishbath.org/6DIRECTORY/AtoZEstab/London/LonIronSF.htm A notoriously violent scene from director David Cronenberg's 2007 film, Eastern Promises, was filmed here, involving Viggo Mortensen's character fighting Chechnyan gangsters in the steam room.
