I found the name Tannery Close first on Google maps. Seems an odd one for a country road. There is some dispute as to the name of this road. Most of the road maps have it as Tannery Close as does my satnav. Yet a local resident is adamant that Tannery Close does not exist and the entire length of the road from the High Street in Burford is Witney Street, a fact confirmed with reference to the Royal Mail and a Government online rating list. The issue remains to be resolved. The road leaving the junction takes you along the Windrush valley. The road leaving to the right joins the A40 a few hundred metres further on.
