In early June 2008 the Old Dun Horse Public House closed its doors for the last time. Owner Thwaites Brewery placed the pub on the market as it had no plans to re-open it as a pub. The building is over 100 years old and is a prominent feature in the town's landscape at the junction of Bolton Street and Nuttall Lane in Ramsbottom. Today the building has been converted into eight flats, but with on street parking at a premium in the area, it came as a surprise to locals that planning permission was granted as there is only parking space for five small cars around the rear of the property.
