Firgrove Bridge, Rochdale Canal

Looking south. This major bridge, which carries the A640 trunk between Rochdale and Milnrow, had been dropped in the 1950s when the canal was out of use, so its rebuilding was a very major undertaking. The original name of the bridge was Wallhead Bridge, but for well over one hundred years the name Firgrove Bridge has been used.
