Smithy Bridge, Rochdale Canal

This bridge has given its name to a station and also to a whole district, which has become one of the most desirable parts of Rochdale in which to live. It carries an important (although unclassified) road which is the main route from Rochdale to Hollingworth Lake. In this picture we are looking west at the newly restored bridge.
