Carnock Church Ruin ? Stonework Detail

This detail can be seen, in context, on the south side of the building in another of my photographs, called Carnock Church Ruin – South Side Although the church was apparently repaired in 1602, this detail has the number 1683 which at first glance seems to be a year date, but there are other markings and Roman numerals and an illustration that looks like the sun.
