I'm uncertain as to whether this is the original sign or a replica; comparison with images on the SABRE forum (https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32899) shows a sign ten years ago looking much more tired and dirty, but it's unclear whether it has been cleaned or replaced. Whichever is the case, it's good that people are keen to retain the original ambience of the New Town.
