An original milestone on what was a turnpike administered by the Pucklechurch to Christian Malford Turnpike Trust. The trust held committee meetings at the Salutation Inn, in the Gibb a hamlet near Castle Comb. Christian Malford was the focus for several 18ᵗʰC turnpikes.
