A former inhabitant of this cottage, Dafydd Jones, together with Wil Jones, Penllyn, used to travel to fairs all over North Wales in the first half of the last century selling the products of a Newborough cottage industry - that of weaving marram grass from the dunes into mats and baskets. The weaving was done by the womenfolk who rented a workshop on Newborough Square.
