Created by Sandra Russell, Champ is located in the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre. Sandra’s inspiration came from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 and what if Scotties also took part in the games? Sandra designed a sporty Scottie wearing tartan sportswear and a Saltire coloured collar with a gold medal with CHAMP written on it. The design incorporates the Official Commonwealth Games and the University of Glasgow’s tartans amongst the Buchanan and many others, including Sandra’s family tartans too. Hopefully the athletes competing in Glasgow this Summer and all sport’s fans will enjoy spotting Champ on the trail.
