Opened in 1851 as "Cowpen Lane" by the Blyth & Tyne Railway on its line from Percy Main, later Newcastle, to Blyth and Morpeth, the name was changed to "Bebside" in 1860. The station closed in 1964, and was later demolished. View south from Front Street level crossing towards the 2025 Blyth Bebside station, in the distance, and Newcastle. The 1851 station had two parallel platforms just beyond the level crossing, with the main station building having been to the far left of the image.
