At the southern end of Beattock there is a small triangle where two roads meet. This has a direction sign minus its 'fingers'. The post was forged by WH Smith of Whitchurch, one of several erected in this part of Dumfriesshire. It may have had 3 'fingers'. Milestone Society ID - DG_NT0802beatt
