The Flots, Becketts Road

Currently used as a transport depot and located within a hook in the road before it joins the A259. The curving nature of the road dates back to the medieval period when the original sea wall, which would have run in a straight line onto the A259 was breached beyond repair and required a reconfiguration a little to the west to restore and strengthen the wall. By the time of Brookland's 1844 tithe map it was the site of Flots Houses which appear to have survived into the 1940s but were later removed and replaced by the current depot.
