Mary Webb lived here in the 1930s. In Spring Cottage, and she wrote here. That memory will always remain, but the cottage looks like it has been through the wars, while meanwhile, adjacent, a much grander home has been built. Maybe the new owners will be moved to write deathless prose by living in this location.
