The artwork for this mural, which reflects the towns' rich mining heritage, was created by Luke McDonnell & Mike Evans for chiba creative, an award-winning creative design company. The black & white entrance at street level was once home to the legendary music venue the Lampglass Music & Arts Cellar Club, formed in 1964 at the nearby Portland Hotel before moving here in 1967. It was a major North East music venue in the late 1960s/early 1970s featuring artists & groups such as Fleetwood Mac, Sting, Bryan Ferry, The Small Faces, Lindisfarne & Arlo Guthrie amongst a host of others. It is now home to Bubbles and continues to offer live music.
