This photograph shows the platform at Northumberland Park Station which serves the newly reopened Northumberland Railway Line running between Ashington and Newcastle Central Station. The first train to use this platform rolled into the station just after 8am on Sunday the 22nd February 2026 thus allowing passengers to travel to Newcastle in about 12 minutes or Ashington in 23 minutes. The station is also an interchange with the Tyne and Wear Metro System for onward travel and is in walking distance of Cobalt Business Park.
