The 'Penistone' face of the milepost just north of Salt Box Lane cross-roads. In February 2011 before the railings were erected this milepost was given a pink undercoat. No top coat was painted on and the legends were not picked out. The mileage to Penistone, 4, which should be on this face had been ground off possibly when a slightly different route to Penistone was established.
