A very pleasing and exquisitely maintained village marred only by parked cars. I expect that white paint is a more modern idiom, but the red sandstone construction is a delight. The stone belongs to the Chester Formation of Triassic age, and was quarried extensively in many areas of the Wirral and Merseyside.
