This information board, provided by the Wycombe Museum, is on a wall in Benjamin Road near Temple End. It has the following wording: This photo shows Glenister's furniture factory, taken from Benjamin Road in the 1990s. The factory was a significant part of Wycombe's chair making industry. It ran as a family business from the 1830s until closure in 1990. By 1851, it was the largest factory in town, employing 50 people. Glenister's was much larger than most other local factories. They had their own stables, their own water supply, and their own woodland along the Lane End Road. During WW2, a nursery was built in the grounds to support working mothers. Want to know more?
