Loaded Network Rail tilt wagons on a siding in Bescot Up Yard. The wagons, built by German plant manufacturer Kirow, can tilt modular switch and crossing panels to an angle of approximately 60˚, thus enabling them to fit within the railway loading gauge during transport to the installation site. The track panels can be factory pre-assembled and tested prior to delivery, thus saving time and reducing engineering disruption on the railway network.
