River bank collapse and repair, Hull

A river bank collapse occurred on the east bank of the River Hull near Foster Street in late December 2024/early January 2025. It was caused by failing ageing sheet piling, seen here, still leaning into the river in April 2026. The incident, involving land owned by the Ashcourt Group, led to suspended river traffic and ongoing repairs; the new sheet piling is shown here to the left of the collapsed section, seen from Wincolmlee near the western end of Wilmington Bridge.
