Metal plates detached from post by the A256, in parish of DOVER (DOVER District), London Road, Buckland, Nos 49 and 50, on wall of Spar grocers shop, on Northeast side of road, close to the original location of the milestone. Erected by the Dover to Barham Downs turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 1 / MILE / TO / DOVOR : : 70 / MILES / TO / LONDON / 14 MILES / TO / CANTERBURY : Kent HER.
